Promoter and Trainer Roye speaks ahead of 20/02 MGM Manchester show in Preston
Promoter and Trainer Johnney Roye is enjoying life after linking up with the MGM outfit. His gym in Preston which consists of both an amateur and professional setup is absolutely buzzing, with the likes of Malcolm Klassen, Declan Geraghty, Tshifhiwa Munyai walking through its doors on a daily basis. ‘JR’ has the first MGM Manchester show pencilled in on February 20th, with Roye trained Liam Conroy and Michael Ramabeletsa joining Tameside’s Lyndon Newman as co main event. They all square off for British Challenge belts and Roye has high hopes for the upcoming show and for the year ahead,
“I hope that the show is well attended as it is full of action packed bouts that include not just MGM Manchester trained fighters but also fighters such as Kofi Yates and Reece Macmillian who are trained by Anthony Farnell and Kieran Farrell. “Since I’ve linked up with MGM, the quality of fighters at our disposal has been incredible. Boxers want to fight in top, full arenas & MGM are delivering just that.”
As previously mentioned, the bill is not solely MGM Manchester trained fighters, with Kieran Farrell displaying his protege Reece Macmillian’s pro debut, Anthony Farnell charge and Central Area Super Lightweight Champion Kofi Yates in action alongside John Murray trained undefeated Chris Conwell. Roye is currently in negotiations also to land former two time IBF World Super Featherweight Champion Malcolm Klassen an IBF title fight on the February 20th show,
“We are still working on Malcom Klassen’s IBF title fight. Malcolm is always ready and always delivers excitement on the world stage as he has proven time and time again. Malcolm will be in action on February 20th and fight fans are in for a real treat.”
Tickets for MGM Manchester’s February 20th show at Preston’s Guild Hall are priced at £35 and £55 in what is real value for money for such a high quality card. Tickets are available from all the boxers on the bill or by calling the Preston GuildHall directly on 01772 804440.
